HI FAMILIES! My name is Cara! I'm 26 years young and I'm from Boston, Massachusetts! I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree. Currently, I am attending school to get my Masters of Early Childhood Education degree. I am very flexible and available on most days of the week. Until very recently, I worked as a childcare provider at Kidz Galore Day Care center but for lack of hours, I needed to find other work. At this job, I worked with children of all ages (6 months- 3 years old). Before that, I was a Pre-Kindergarten English and Social Science teacher at a private school in Phuket, Thailand. I had a total of 25 students from ages 2-3 years old. This involved helping the children follow the rules and daily routine of school. For example preparing the children's meals, helping them sleep at nap time, changing them when needed, a lot of play time in and outside the classroom, and preparing/teaching daily lessons. Before I became a teacher, I worked as a lifeguard for 7 years. This required me to be certified and trained in CPR and first aid. Also, I was a nanny/babysitter for many years growing up for close family members/friends. I would prepare meals, drive the children to various activities, and help with homework. In 2015 while attending school, I also interned for Child and Family Services in a local city near my hometown. Currently, I am an online English tutor for students in China on a site called VIPkids.
