Hello! My name is Taryn and I have been an educator for 10 years (this year being my 11th). I got my Childcare diploma in England and got it approved here in Australia by the Educational body ACECQA, which makes me a certificate 3 holder in childcare. I have experience with children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old and some experience up to 12 years old as I used to work in Outside School Hours Care as well. I have cared for children with neurodivergencies including ASD and ADHD. I like to think of myself as caring and kind, and I have been described by my co-workers as a "natural nurturer". The children I care for at work like to play with me and parents have said they talk about me at home too. A couple of children have 3D printed me presents (a small Spider-Man bust and a caterpillar) and I have been invited to a couple of birthday parties as well. I am authoritative when it comes to rules and boundaries (yours as well as my personal boundaries) but I do not shout. I am capable of following through and I do my best to explain in age-appropriate language why certain rules or boundies are in place to help the children understand. I do my best to ensure the children feel seen and heard and feel safe. I have no qualms in getting messy or playing games.
